As you are aware, the fires in Napa and Sonoma county have devastated the local communities. We hope that you, your families and your school were not directly affected by the recent fires.
It is with great sadness that we write to you letting you know that our facility, URJ Camp Newman, has been severely damaged in the recent fire. There are still many hot spots on the camp’s site, so total damage cannot be assessed at this time. From articles posted online, the camp’s administration will be working on plans for a new facility and a remote facility for the time being.
As we are unaware of how long this will take and whether the facility will have the capacity for our groups, we will be in search of a new facility near the Bay area. We will provide you with an update as soon as we are able to on the new location, along with any new/additional information that your school and students will need to know. Should your school and parents like us to, we are able to come back and provide another parent presentation outlining the new facility information.
Please let us know how we may be of support to you, your students, your parents and your school.
